SUNFLOWER HOUSE

In 2003, I had the opportunity to visit a wonderlul country, which found a special place in my memory. This country is called Vietnam, one of the most beautiful Asian countries I have ever seen. Despite a very heavy and even dramatic history, the people adopt a life's philosophy that everyone should have to copy : accept whatever life brings you and do it with a smile, because there is always lessons to learn about it.

During this trip, I encountered very friendly and helpful people, that marked me forever and in particular a person. At a stage of my journey, waiting an international flight from Paris to Ho Chi Min City, I met a Vietnamese man called Léopold, funny name for a Vietnamese, don't you think so:) ? He was making a trip back to his country after 42 years! He was very excited and nervous to get back to his roots. Believe it or not, but what should have been a simple encounter turned out to be a beautiful friendship nowadays.

After his trip in 2003, Léopold visited his native country in a regular base. During one of these trips he met in Nha Trang FATHER DAI who is the founder of THE SUNFLOWER HOUSE orphan home. This is the new home and family for many little orphans. Father Dai started this project with almost nothing but mostly with the strength of his faith. He gives everything he possess, works very hard to build a new home for all the orphans he meets. In 2006, he counted 10 children, whereas today the orphan home is counting 67 happy & healthy children.

Léopold is an active member of this orphan home and thanks to his generosity and the donators he found, Father Dai's project is helping all these children. He also helped many women to get life saving surgeries as he believes that no mother can be replaced and children deserve to be raised by their own mother. Unfortunately there are many children who do not have this chance!

When I learned about this wonderful project I wanted to be a part of it and try to help Father Dai to continue his project by giving to the orphans a better place to live in this world. Let me also give you the opportunity to help !!

By THE SUNFLOWER HOUSE these children are loved, fed, dressed and they get excellent school education. With this help they will for sure become responsible and loving adults and will probably, with this background, continue to help other children to get out of their misery.

The expenses for one child:

- Food, drink and milk (1 child / 1 day): 16.000 VND

- Clothes, diaper (1 child / 1 day): 4.500 VND

- Medication (1 child / 1 day): 3.500 VND

Total for 1 day : 24.000 VND = $1.50

The calculation is then very simple if you want to help a child for more than just 1 day.

24.000 VND/ 1 day X 30 days = 720.000 VND (1 month)= $ 45.00

24.000 VND/ 1 day X 365 days = 8.760.000 VND (1 year) = $550.00

This tabels makes you just realize how we can help with little donation from $ 1.50 to $ 550.00. If you feel concerned by these little orphans or by simple the fact to offer a better life to someone. Please feel free to make you donation on my Website, your money will be transferred to father Dai.
